Essential Needs and Housing Support

ESHB 2082, enacted during the 2011 legislative session, established the “Housing and Essential Needs Support” (HENS) program within the Department of Commerce. IIndividuals who are homeless and receive Medical Care Service (MCS) medical assistance are eligible to apply for housing assistance from this non-entitlement program. The CFC provides a courtesy forecast of the count of homeless Medical Care Service recipients. .
